Lemon

First of all, ya'll have gots to let these lemons goooo! Oh, girl give them a break. I know they're wondering why everybody just a call up them name so. Give apples and grapes and peaches and them other fruit b*tches some shine too, damn. 

So N.E.R.D who I've only heard of in passing, released a new song with my good sis Rihanna today. At first, when I heard the song, I thought "what the hell?". So, to be fair I listened a few more times annnnnd I kind-of like it.

It's a new sound musically, which I like. Compared to the junk I keep hearing from most people out now, I appreciate the freshness. The beat has a fun bounce to it and I can't help but think of the New Orleans bounce sound. Not saying that's what the sound is, it just reminds me of it. 

I think I've said before that Rihanna is probably my favourite rapper. My girl's got flow and barzzz. I wouldn't be mad if just for fun she decides to give us a full rap album. She rides the beat effortlessly and she sounds super good. I can easily twerk to her verse, which is literally all I care about and it's the sole reason I bought the single 🤷🏾‍♀️. 

Pharell sounds great too. 

Overall, I give it a 3 out of 5. I wasn't sure what N.E.R.D x Rihanna collab would sound like. I don't think I was interested in one, to begin with. I'm not necessarily a fan of N.E.R.D so maybe that newness is why I'm just like eh to it at the moment. I'm not disappointed but I'm not overly excited either. I will say It's one of the better collabs/features Rih's done this past year. Maybe it will grow on me like her features tend to do.

Cool beat ✔️, fun lyrics ✔️and Rih rapping ✔️; that's all I can ask for.
