#TheAubreyCanHaveMeTour
In my mission not to have a boring summer this year, I bought last minute tickets to see Drake at his last show in Madison Square Garden. I had been saying I wanted to go since the tickets first came out, but as usual I waited until the very last minute to get tickets. This rare outing event was sort of a "You Deserve It" gift to me; a final hoorah for my summer. I spent most of the hot weather either at work or in somebody’s kitchen.
Before I get into the show, can you believe I got lost on my way to the darn venue? 🙄 The way I was walking up and down 34th street, you would think I had never been to the city before. SMH. Once I finally found where the hell I was going, I made sure to be as alert as possible and read every sign because I’d never been to MSG before and I was not trying to ask anybody for directions. I finally made it in and made my way up a million flights of stairs until I got to the wing my seats were on. The way it took long to find my seat, I missed half of the Migos set. I heard “Handsome and Wealthy” in the hallway and trust me I was pissed. That’s my song and I couldn’t turn up because my dumb ass couldn’t find where I was supposed to go. After a few minutes, I FINALLY found my row and had to go through a string of white people before I got to my seat.
To be frank, I don’t remember half of the Migos’ set. One I missed most of it and the rest of it I didn’t know half of the songs. Like I’m not a die hard Migos fan okay. I know a few of their bops and that’s that. If Drake hadn’t decided to string them along for this tour, I would have probably never spent money to go see them live. Nothing towards them, I’m just not that interested.
So fast forwarding to Aubrey’s set…
Bitch.
Can I just say that I love when Drake goes on tour? Every time he goes on tour he grows his beard out and gets these big, juicy arms and becomes ultimately, the Champagne Papi. I’ve always had love for the Drake, but after that night I think I fell in love. HE. IS. FIONEEEEEE! OH MY GOSH! 😩 Every time his face came for a close up on the big screen I was like Yaaaaassssssssss…
I couldn’t even focus on the show too much because I just stood there admiring his gorgeous-ness. It was everything 🤧
But outside of me being parched for Drake’s muscles, the show itself was great.
It was filled with a lot of energy. Aubs was running up and down the stage without losing his breath or missing a beat. There was a flying car at one point. I’m still confused as to if it was a real car or a blown up one. When I saw the car flying overhead all I could think about was “What if this shit falls?”. As cool as it was, I just wanted that part to be over because I did not want to witness anything tragic in the name of Drake being creative. There were the dancing girls, who did their thing. There was the basketball portion, where one lucky person had the chance to shoot and make some money. There were special guests Travis Scott and the Shiggy guy that came out during “In My Feelings”. There were lights and fun special effects during the entire show. It was great, I can’t complain. The next time Drake goes on tour, I can safely say that I’ll go. I’ll even make an effort to listen to whatever new album he has out and learn the lyrics so that I can sing along or at least say I’ve heard that shit before. I went to this show knowing only maybe three songs from Scorpion and maybe only the chorus to a few others. The rest, of course I knew word for word. I wish I could upload the videos I took that night directly so you can see all of what I’m talking about.
What a night.
